Right from childhood to teen years, then adulthood and old age — we go through many changes and roles. However, if there’s one role that remains constant throughout, it’s that of a student! Whether you are a toddler scribbling on a piece of paper, a high-schooler preparing for an exam or an adult learning more about one’s profession, no matter how clichéd it sounds, the truth is that we never stop learning. Therefore, a room or corner solely dedicated to learning and education must be made mandatory in every house. Here are a few study table ideas that work great for students of all ages and for homes of all sizes!

The contemporary thin-drawer design

If storage and space is not an issue and you can manage to have a whole room dedicated to studying, then this is the design for you. This study table style usually comes with two, thin drawers where you can put your paperwork and also save up on space thanks to its thin legs. This makes for an excellent minimalist design giving the room a sleek, uncluttered look. These tables also work great not just for aesthetic purposes but for practical reasons too as you can put them in any room and use it for more than just studying or doing paperwork! Jazz it up with a terrarium, some photos or books and you have a useful and pretty study table in front of you.

Table with leg storage

Who said a teacher’s table is too boring? Tables with leg storage have the potential to look modern, hip and revamp the classic teacher’s table design taking it another level. Instead of the clunky drawers that hang from the tabletop, they move the storage to one or both legs. You can store a lot of stationery and study material along with your school or work bag, eliminating the need for a separate storage unit.

The library-cum-study table

A library-cum-study table looks large enough to pack all your utilities (and they do!), but it doesn’t necessarily take a lot of your floor space when compared to a regular study table. The trick is that they take all the storage and move it vertically upwards. Therefore, you can have a lot of storage space and shelving to fit a small library. The best part? Moving out is never a problem because all you need to do is move this one piece of furniture and you’re good to go!

Wall-mounted study table

If you are struggling with space and need a solution which does not crowd your living area, then this is the option for you! Instead of getting a full set, you can simply mount the table on a wall and put a chair in front of it. Need more space? You can insert hinges and simply fold the table when you are not using it, unless and until you have a desktop computer sitting on it. Wall-mounted tables are also a good option especially when you have growing kids around. You can adjust the table to your child’s height instead of buying new ones every year!

Corner Table

Another intelligent, space-saving design for study tables are the ones that use up all the corners efficiently — enter corner tables! These tables have an L-shape and a triangular tabletop which makes use of all the available space to its maximum extent. When you put a rectangular table against a wall, you generally end up using more space than recommended between your elbow and the wall. Corner tables, however, utilize any kind of space well whilst the diagonal tabletop increases the surface area, presenting you with a spacious study area without making you give up on a lot of space!

An adult struggling to find the right time to read the new technology thesis or a student rummaging around to organize all the necessary study material — a smartly designed study table can solve all your problems and save up on time too! Here’s to being a student for life!
