Trumbull County Commissioner, Niki Frenchko

Some people are born to lead. They exude a quiet confidence that speaks volumes of their inner strength. But when they're pushed too far, they fiercely fight. These people often make great leaders, landing in executive roles in fields like the military, corporate, government, sports, and especially, politics.

Trumbull County, Ohio Commissioner, Niki Frenchko, is the epitome of the aforementioned characteristics. Frenchko served eight years in the United States Army Reserves. Her strength she possesses likely was formed right then and there. Frenchko is a workhorse. She has outworked her opponents for years in this medium sized county in Northeast Ohio, and that hard work paid off when she handed a local big shot his first ever loss. She defeated a guy who'd been running things in the Warren-Youngstown (OH) area for about 40 years. She was given zero chance to win. Her own party did nothing for her. They still don't.

Niki Frenchko isn't a part of the little clique. She is her own woman. She lives by her own code. She is fiercely independent. Nobody tells her what to do. The establishment hates that. They detest it. Don’t Believe it? Ask Tulsi Gabbard or Marjorie Taylor-Greene. Commissioner Frenchko is 9 months in office and her own Republican Party still refuses to lift a finger to help her. She is a woman on an island all alone. The only thing Frenchko has on her side is the people. That's all she needs. You might say she's Donald Trump of Trumbull County. But competent and compassionate.

In her path to the election, this woman faced the dirtiest gutter tribal politics that I have personally seen in a local election. Racism, bullying, extortion, stalking - even ridiculous fabricated accusations of revenge porn from her past. It was utterly disgusting. But the kicker was when her opponents lined nails in her driveway to flatten her car tires. She was unable to prove it, but the circumstantial evidence was pretty damming. This army veteran has faced something the likes a Netflix Movie Script Writer would truly envy. Surely it has smoothed over since her victory though, right? The opposite. Watters have gotten even rougher for this courageous woman.

This veteran and champion of women has faced a barrage of disgusting propaganda, sexism, racism, and even junk lawsuits. The media has chosen to cover most of it up, locally. The establishment media doesn't care what happens to outsider politicians. They are run by the two political parties. The law director in this county is the brother of her main detractor and fellow commissioner. He is a bought off establishment guy.

How difficult would it be to implement a media blackout on this true change agent? After all the press is critical to change. It might have actually already taken place, because Ms. Frenchko has been seemingly blacked out from local media for months now. Local affiliates of ABC, CBS, NBC, and Fox have completely shut her down. Those of us who worked in grassroots underground politics a while know the pattern all too well. We lived it vicariously. Bernie Sanders volunteer folks can relate.

Commissioner Niki Frenchko has continued to display incredible bravery through her first nine months in office. The opposition has filed grievances against her (for frivolous reasons), her staff has been strong armed into coming after her (after helping her win her election last year), her fellow commissioner has turned against her (after helping her win her election), trolls have sent sex toys to her address, she's been stalked and video taped off the job, and the list goes on. This onslaught is obvious criminal activity, but like I said before, the law director of this county is the brother of her main opposition.

Through all this chaos and hell, Frenchko slogs onward and upward. She's a warrior. Once her backup arrives (her voters) to have her back, its all over for the opposition. Keep a close eye out for the name Niki Frenchko. She's the real deal. She might just be the bravest local politician in America.
