If you are thinking of considering the fibc bags as your bulk packaging solution, you will come across terms like Type A, Type B, Type C and Type D. You will even hear that terms like anti-static, non-conductive, etc. are often used along with FIBG big bags.

FIBC Bags

In case these terms confuse you, this article is for you because it clears all the confusion about these terms related to fibc bags. So, start reading ahead.

· Type A fibc bags

The Type A fibc bag refers to those bags which are meant for carrying non-conductive materials. Here, non-conductive refers to all these agricultural products, fruits, vegetables and all other products that are not flammable and do not conduct static electricity.

· Type B fibc bags

The Type B fibc bags are similar to that the Type A bags in the context that they are only capable of storing and carrying materials that are non-conductive.

However, here questions may arise on the specific features of Type B bags that distinguish them from Type A bags. Well, the Type B fibc bags can repel the chances of propagating brush discharges(PBD) which Type A cannot offer.

Here, PBD means that some materials are able to produce highly energetic electrical discharge due to the breakdown of energy. Thus, PBD is dangerous because it can often become the key source of the massive explosion. When you buy Type B fibc bags, you can remain assured that such unprecedented occurrences will never happen.

· Type C fibc bags

The Type C fibc bags are made of conductive materials and hence can be grounded safely without the fear of an explosion. A network of conductive yarns and non-conductive polypropylene yards are interwoven to make these big bags capable of dissipating electrostatic energy. This makes the Type C bags ideal for carrying flammable substances.

However, using these FIBC bags is still not advisable in areas where the minimum ignition temperature is lower than 1000 mJ, or else these fibc bags can even explode.

· Type D fibc bags

The fibc bags under the Type D category feature static protective fabric as their basic constructional material. This specialized selection of FIBC fabric makes these Type D fibc bags superior to the Type C fabrics in the manner that they can be grounded much easily. The chances of accidental grounding failures are practically non-existent in the case of these bags. This makes these Type D bags ideal for carrying highly flammable liquids, gases, vapours and combustible powders.
