Imagine a life without challenges . In such a life nobody would be able to grow personally and professionally . Life is meant to take challenges and overcome hurdles and obstacles instead of having cold feet on challenges. Life is meant to go extra mile and break your comfort zone . Success lies in going beyond the boundaries and leaving no stone unturned for achieving your goals. One has to read between the lines that what success lies in .

Company : Fatimid Foundation

Here is my task of going to Fatimid Foundation for in person drop of my resume and cover letter .

Research about company:

I firstly searched the organization’s information deeply for a day to know all the ropes about that organization like its Vision is :

1.To maintain and project Fatimid Foundation on the world map.

2.To strengthen our leading position in thalassemia management.

3.To shape the blood banking and haematological sector by integrating test results and medical information.

4.To provide awareness and prevention of thalassemia in Pakistan so as to support decision makers and superior patient management.

It has so much contributions to society like it is

1 The Largest Blood Bank & Hematological Services providing free of charge transfusion to poor & needy patients.

2.The first blood bank in Pakistan to introduce the concept of voluntary non-remunerated blood donation and discourage professional donors.

3. The first organization to start up a Thalassaemia & Hematological -Service under one roof.

4. Provided approx 3.000 million units of screened blood and blood products since inception.

5.Collecting and Distributing approx 100,000+ units of blood and blood components annually from healthy voluntary donors. The chairman of that organization is Lt. Gen. (R) Moinuddin Haider.

Elevator Pitch:

I applied there because at that organization we perform all biochemical tests for blood and that is a very golden opportunity for us to practically work and master technical skills there. So after all my research I prepared my elevator pitch portion.

“My name is Fidaa Aslam . My goal for my upcoming years is to become a Biochemist Research officer . I am so passionate about joining your company after the very moment I came to know the Hematological services you offer to nation during the time my family members donated the blood for patients. The way you serve nation by awareness and prevention of thalassemia is just commendable and I want to be a part of this. I am currently doing my Bachelors in Biochemistry from Punjab University. I loved my subject of clinical Biochemistry during my university so I did my internship at Pathology lab of jinnah hospital and during my internship I mastered much technical skills of hematological field .I would love to contribute these skills for such service to our country. Being so passionate about this job I want to drop my CV and cover letter in person here. I hope to hear from you soon .

In Person Drop:

I went the very next day at that organization . I was fully equipped with my resume , cover letter ,research , elevator pitch . I meet the doctor who was in charge of the lab and she asked me to wait for the manager, Dr. Waleed Bin Azhar .Mean while I availed my time by asking the basic strategies of joining the organization , the rules and culture not mentioned on their website. After that I waited for hours there but at the end I came to know he was in meeting and he will come the next day. So I got back home . The very next day I went there early in the morning . I waited for long and at last I meet him after such an utmost effort . I went to his office . Introduced myself with the elevator pitch and dropped my CV and resume there.

Experience :

It was a very helpful experience as I faced the challenge of meeting him . sometimes I think I should quit as time was short and I had to wait for hours but as life is meant to deal with challenges at last I accomplished my task . During this task I learned so much while meeting the people there about the culture and details like how they work etc so that I can grasp much about this organization before meeting the manager. That was the knowledge I did not get on their official page so it was pretty much useful and worthy.
