Challenges To Learn New Things
Imagine a life without challenges . In such a life nobody would be able to grow personally and professionally . Life is meant to take challenges and overcome hurdles and obstacles instead of having cold feet on challenges.
Learning something new is itself a challenge . We have a fear that how we will overcome this new challenge of learning . what if we are unable to learn something new ? Does our mind has that capacity to learn something new ?
I give myself challenges to check whether I am able to learn something new or not . I challenge myself on regular intervals to test my abilities to tackle situations and yes of course I feel afraid . The major hindrance and challenge is the fear whether I can or not? What if I cant ?
But recently I have learnt some important techniques and principles to overcome my challenges from the course of learning how to learn.
“Along with focused mode our brain needs to shift to diffused mode so our brain can learn to switch between them and think more conceptually.”
To learn something new we need to space our learning by taking rest at intervals .This is working on procrastination .
This concept of procrastination is so important to chunk our work and give our brain intervals to relax and pacify a part other than the fear of work and learning something new and the best way to train our brain is Pomodoro technique.
“Planning your starting and quitting time.”
To avoid our self from distractions we need to plan our schedule accordingly so we can strictly work on it instead of wasting time and starting things randomly .
“Lady luck favors the one who tries.”
The two most important things to learn something new is
1. Physical exercise
2. Practice makes one perfect but only when brain is fresh and ready to accept
“Face your fear”
Facing your fear by taking challenges is the most important step to be a life long learner.
As my major challenge during learning something new is my fear and tension to start it and complete it . And the only way I am going to apply this is to work on these golden principles by working on my brain to interpret things differently and switching between my diffused and focused mode. It can only be accomplished by relaxing mind with the help of planned intervals as called spacing our learning instead of continuous cramming and procrastination techniques.
