An open, anonymous letter to your doctor about drinking too much
Belle Robertson

Many years ago I told my therapist I was concerned that maybe I was partying too much. She said with everything that had happened to me she thought I was coping so well and surprised I was not on heroine.

In my twisted brain that gave me permission to abuse other stuff that wasn’t “as bad”.

When I was still married my ex met with a psychiatrist to get on an antidepressant. The medicine he put my ex on the doctor said could be really unsafe when mixed with marijuana. However it was “ok” to mix with cocaine. Again- the ultimate permission right? From a professional. Hello? Guess what he continued to use? 🙄

Dear doctors- be careful what you say in an authoritative position. Users will look for any excuse to feel better about using.

In the end they are not kidding when they say people have to really want it themselves to stop behaviors- because no one is going to do it for them.

One clap, two clap, three clap, forty?
