Alas, My Facebook Birthday Wishes Are Down Year over Year
My Facebook post to thank my friends for their birthday wishes
Please feel free to take this in concept or verbatim and make it your own:
“Thank you everyone for all the amazing birthday wishes. My birthday wishes posts to my page are up 2.4% over last year. When adjusted for the 11.5% growth of my Facebook friends year over year this actually represents a drop in acknowledgements of my birthday as a percentage of my total friends to birthday wishes by 1.4%. I won’t let this bother me — some of my new friends clearly don’t realize how seriously I take this.
Also the number of private messages I received to wish me a happy birthday represents another healthy harvest of validation — thank you… even if again, some of you dropped out of your responsibilities to acknowledge me this year. Don’t feel bad, I get we are all busy and since I became a Dad I know many of you have discarded me to the past friend category….totally understandable.
Thanks for the birthday wishes — see you next year — let’s really work on upping our numbers in every category come June 3rd 2017!!!!”
I’ll do anything other than actually write a “real article”!
