2012 vs. 2016 Comparison of Harris County Early Voting by Location

After I published yesterday’s map of turnout by early voting location, my friend Aziz asked an interesting question:

I couldn’t find the 2012 numbers either, so I emailed Stan Stanart, the Harris County Clerk:

I gotta hand it to the folks in that office. They take election data seriously. It’s Sunday morning, and within two hours, I received a response with the data attached:

So with the data in hand, I started the same process of PDF -> CSV -> R -> leaflet and created a layer for 2012.

Keep in mind that there were 46 early voting locations in 2016, compared to 37 in 2012.
