Aside from a handful of Indian sects, I am not aware of any western traditions that have a legitimate claim to ancient lineage.

It’s problematic, because I see a lot of reconstructionists (especially of Greece-based magic, such as Orphic and Setian cults) claim that they’re legitimately following a tradition… only to completely botch it at every turn, when compared to source materials.
