This is a much needed text, since people seem to have overly optimistic perceptions about the digital economy. It is creating wealth, but also inequality, geographical and not. In my country, which is highly unequal and not a developed one, this is not new; in Europe, where they have a established welfare state, less inequality and a less concentrated population (smaller territory) this is less of an issue; but in the US this is destroying the fragile circumstances that created the golden post-war age for the US economy. Now, increasing economic inequalities, both social and geographical, with no national welfare or local development policies, are creating increasing poverty and making things like the 2016 election possible.
