Hello readers, I hope you are all right. Less than 2 months ago, I started writing about my experiences here on the Medium blog, with this being my my first post. It’s been a satisfying journey so far, as I have conducted extensive research and had numerous one-on-one meetings. Through this process, I have come to comprehend my potential and understand the steps I need to take to advance my career development.

In the following sections, I will explain how I utilize each of these methods to learn and test my knowledge before pursuing certification.

Cloud Provider Training — The Cloud Bootcamp

One of the three branches of development that I identified was to increase my Cloud Practitioner knowledge. To achieve this, I started with the Cloud Bootcamp, which aims to provide a shortcut on this path, with a specific focus on AWS, the largest cloud provider today.

The Cloud Bootcamp offers training for AWS, Azure, GCP, and OCI, with detailed explanations and hands-on exercises that contribute to a better understanding of cloud services. The bootcamp strongly encourages users to showcase their development and practice in the cloud by utilizing platforms like Medium blog to create and share their portfolio. This is exactly what I have been doing for the past 2 months.

Moreover, the Bootcamp recently released a series of videos designed to help IT professionals enhance their careers. In addition to cloud-related content, these videos cover topics such as LinkedIn management, soft skills, and my personal favorite, a comprehensive focus on DevOps, which I will delve into in this post.

AWS Cloud Quest

The second place where I gained a lot of knowledge was through the AWS Cloud Quest, which I wrote a post about. AWS Cloud Quest is a gamified platform that allows users to get hands-on experience in nine different IT roles. I personally started with the free role, Cloud Practitioner. If you’re hesitant about spending a significant amount of money using your own AWS account, I highly recommend starting with Cloud Quest to familiarize yourself with the platform.

In my Cloud Quest journey, my next steps will be to complete the Data Engineer and Machine Learning Engineer roles. However, it is important to note that these roles are not available for free. To access them, you will need to subscribe to AWS Skill Builder.

AWS Skill Builder

AWS Cloud Quest is a component of a larger platform called AWS Skill Builder. This platform is specifically designed to assist users in developing their skills within the AWS ecosystem. It offers a wide range of training materials, including over 500 courses, some of which provide hands-on experience to enhance your knowledge.

In order to prepare for the AWS Cloud Practitioner certification, I completed two courses. The first course, AWS Cloud Essentials, served as an excellent introduction to the AWS Cloud Platform. The second course focused on exam preparation for the official AWS Cloud Practitioner certification. This course proved invaluable in helping me prepare for the exam, as it included two sample exams that allowed me to assess my knowledge at a level similar to the actual exam.

I did two courses to prepare myself for the AWS Cloud Practitioner course. The first AWS Cloud Essentials, is a very good introcution about what is AWS Cloud Platform. The second one was the preparation to official exam to AWS Cloud Practitioner, I used this last one to prepare myself for the exam, this course has 2 examples of exam, so you can test you actual knowleadge on a level similar to the exam.

Conclusion

Using these platforms, I was able to start with zero knowledge in the AWS Cloud Platform and successfully achieve my main objective thus far, which was to be recognized as an AWS Cloud Practitioner. You can access my Badge through the link below.
