Lately I’ve been trying to read a few more books than usual. A friend of mine suggested me to give a shot to the last bestseller by Tony Robbins. If you cliked here you already know who Tony is and what he does and we both agree he’s a master (even if he says “I’m not your guru”). This book is about finance and teaches you (and me) what it is like and how to navigate in it.

The book is divided into three sections: the rule book, the unshakeable playbook, the psychology of wealth. That’s a smart choice becuase it simplifies everything, first you learn how the finance world runs then he gives you some tips about investing and last you have what you could do and be as a person to make your life better.

I’m not gonna spoiler anything, I’m just gonna give you a little hint so you can decide if it’s worth or not to read this book.

The rule book, first section; before you play any game you better know the rules or the other players may screw you too easily. The finance wolrd seems really complex and articulated and honestly I think it is but if you break it down in simple rules you can make it through. It is essential to do so if you, like me, are approaching this landscape for the first time ever. You will understand the difference between a mutual fund and an index funds, you will understand the power of taxes and what they mean to you. Taxes is a big deal in the long run game; have you ever heard about the compound effect? If not check out the book “The compound effect” by DARREN HARDY, you will see how a 5% tax can change your life (in a negative way). Bear market, market corrections, bull market ever heard of them? No problem, Robbins will tell you everything you need to know and will show you how staying in the market always win, in the long run. Of course you cannot navigate this troubling ocean by yourself you need someone to trust, but who? Brokers, indipendet advisors or dually registered advisors? I think he’s clear enough in the book on who you need to trust.

The unshakeable playbook, second section; ok now you know the rules but do you really know how to play, what works and what doesn’t? Of course not, you never played it! That’s the reason why you must pay attention to this section and learn the strategies the best of the best investors use so you can imitate them. You’ll learn the principles of finance and what your attitude should be to slay the bear. Since I want you to read the book I’m not gonna give you any other info about this section… but if you want know more you know what to do.

The psychology of wealth, third section; if you are in the game what do you think matters the most in order to win? It’s you, you are what matters the most. You are the one that will make you win but mostly will make you lose. How easy is that? Your attitude and your mindset will determin your outcome, it’s 80% psychology and 20% mechanics. You need to master your mind in order to make better decisions when times get tough. And despite to the financial world you need to learn what success means to you and how you can be happy everytime. You can make decisions that match this path of happiness, it’s all about you.

This little review has been made a few hours after finishing reading the book. I didn’t want to give to many infos because then the book will be useless, I hope (if you decide to read it) you will enjoy it as much as I did. It doesn’t have all the answers and everything in it but it’s a good start, at least I think so! Tell me what do you think…
