FindData

In the cloud computing model, computing resources and services are usually concentrated in large data centers, while end users access these resources and services at the “edge” of the network. This model has been proven to have cost advantages and more efficient resource sharing capabilities. However, new end-user experiences (such as the Internet of Things) require computing power to be closer to the actual location of the physical device or data source, that is, the “edge” of the network.

Based on this demand, the edge computing model will not only concentrate resources in the cloud model as much as possible, but also allocate computing resources to the “edge” of the network on demand.
