Origins of Sophia: A Divine Creation
According to Gnostic teachings, the divine Sophia emerged from the Fore-Creation, an invisible and formless realm. The Fore-Creation, desiring to manifest its potential, gave birth to holy dyads or pairs of entities. Among these pairs were the Abyss and Fore-thought, which then produced Truth and Mind, the first female and male forms, respectively. Life and Word followed as their offspring, with Life becoming the form-mother of the spiritual world called the Pleroma, and Word becoming the form-father of the beings within the Pleroma.
