The internet grows by approximately 2.5 million gigabytes everyday. Human attention span, on the other hand, is a fixed resource. Something has to give. In a world where information is everywhere, how do we separate the wheat from the chaff and surface only what is essential?

We need curation — people in the know who sift through the haystack of news articles and commentary everyday, then featuring the pieces most worthy of your attention.

Inspired by sites like Techmeme and The Wirecutter, we built Finmash to give you the news and commentary that matter most in the fintech space at any particular slice of time.

So… why Fintech?

We are at the most disruptive time in finance since the advent of banking. Software has ‘eaten’ most of the world, and now it’s eating finance.

It’s also right at the intersection of finance and tech where you have two of the most ‘news-hungry’ audiences, with a high demand for real-time information. Combine this with how fast the space is moving, and you see fintech getting more coverage from established tech blogs, hundred year-old financial newspapers, and new media.

As curious fintech folks ourselves, we tried hard to find a one-stop shop that filters out all the noise and only answers what is happening in fintech at a particular moment.

We couldn’t find it, so we built it.

Building on top of years of experience in fintech research, we will do the hard work of finding the top articles on the most important topics in fintech— Blockchain, biometrics, mergers and acquisitions between banks and startups, mobile payments, and more — featuring them on a single homepage curated for you everyday.

Check us out at Finmash. We just launched and we’d love to get your feedback!
