WHAT I LEARNED FROM MY MORNING COMMUTE
This morning when I was on my way to a new day of learning new skills I was confronted with an overfull metro and people trying to cram into the already full cabins. I decided to wait for the next one.
The next metro didn’t just arrive one minute later, it was almost completly empty. It made me think how this is such a great example how to act in life. It made me think about the following life lessons:
// BE PATIENT
People can be impatient these days. I see it every day during my morning & evening commute: people getting in through first class to quickly walk over to second class when people are still leaving the train or getting in when people are still leaving the train. When the rest of us get into the train there are still enough seats left. So no need to be impatient! Things will work out the way they should.
// SOMETIMES THE THING YOU WANT ISN’T WHAT YOU NEED
When I saw how full the metro was (you could literally not get in) I decided to, instead of trying to cram myself into it, to wait for the next one. It wasn’t how I planned my morning commute to go. It could’ve turned into me not arriving on time. But I did get in on time. And I had breathing room.
// BETTER THINGS COULD BE RIGHT AROUND THE CORNER
I didn’t know if the next metro would get me to arrive on time but like I said above, I did and I had space to breath and move around. I could even do cartwheels if I wanted to. I got something better than I planned for. When you get disappointed that things didn’t turn out the way you wanted them to, believe that there is something better around the corner. Or at least you can enjoy a peaceful morning commute.
