iTunes does have a lot of features, I don’t dispute that. My recommendation (since I have no hope for improvement in the app itself) would be to sunset it and split out the features into separate applications. The most obvious candidate to spin out would be a separate tool for handling iPhone backups and firmware updates (of course I can imagine a business reason why they want a monolithic app that includes Apple Music in the tool people need to update iPhones.)
