You say “But keeping these incredibly expensive wastes of energy will obviously be impossible in the future…”

When you say “obvious” you lack vision. You don’t even know the potential of just solar alone (let me not list others, as that might really add up to too much for your rather limited imagination).

You must be a “glass half empty” kind of person. And I want civilization to colonize the entire solar system (look up Dyson sphere).

Glass freaking totally overflowing!!!

Oh, solar, alone can’t do that? Really? Well you know what, what percent of the sun’s energy does Earth intercept??? Like nothing.

So, greenies, less energy will only achieve less. Period. Right?

And fossil fuels must be used wisely in order to build the more powerful, and clean, energy infrastructure, before they vanish.

We’ll need even more energy to power 15 billion at high standards, and energy pay for its own creation (hundreds of thousands of square miles of solar panels on desert lands).

If you don’t like that, then, we’ll have to resort to fucking nuclear, right (as long as it’s not altering the atmosphere).

Yes, global warming is about as important as ridding poverty…
