Thank you, Google!

For whatever reason I woke up today thinking about all the Google services I use regularly in my personal and business routines. Until I thought about it, I didn’t even realize how much I rely on Google in my day to day.

The list quickly grew to 30 items. Some of which are free and some I’m gladly paying for. Some I use exclusively (such as Search) and some in conjunction with other alternatives (such as Adwords).

The Google List

—Google Search
— Google Chrome
—Google Gmail
— Google Calendar
— Google YouTube
— Google Images
— Google News
— Google Alerts
— Google Chromecast
— Google DNS
— Google Patents
— Google Trends
— Google Maps and Waze
— Google Earth
— Google Photos and Picasa
— Google Analytics
— Google Finance
— Google Drive, Docs and Forms
— Google Hangouts
— Google Voice
— Google Translate
— Google AdWords
— Google Domains
— Google WiFi at Starbucks
— Google URL Shortener
— Google Sites
— Google Authenticator
— Google reCaptcha
— Google Speed Test
— Occasional lunch with Google comrades at GooglePlex

Once the list was complete, it became clear how indispensable Google is as a resource in today’s life. Since it’s easy to forget that, I felt compelled to write down a quick shout out.

Thank you, Google! You guys make incredibly powerful and useful tools, which are either free or dirt cheap. Can’t imagine the world without them.

PS: One notable omission from the list is Android. That’s because Apple was first to hook me on their back-button-less phones.
