Nice piece Dave! I’ve had a similarly frustrating deal getting my panels up and running. My suggestion for your last 3 points is slightly different — I suggest working with someone else who has had them installed, and also knows the major milestones needed, then make sure these milestones get a date written into the contract when they will be done, and add late fees for the installing company. The contractor I had either had more important customers or just didn’t know what to do and when. This could be part of the growing pains. (I’ll write about my experience here soon) But I still recommend solar to everyone I see! Very proud of my system. As for #3 again, a little extra personal effort is worth the environmental benefit for everyone!
