Today, I’m JoJo.
It doesn’t matter what you know.
It matters what you do.
We live in a time that allows us to do pretty much whatever we want in life. I know it’s easy to get caught up in the security of our jobs, and by no means am I suggesting people drop their current jobs and run out to weave bracelets in the mountains of Peru, but technically you could if you could get WIFI…
Loving the security of a pension and weekly paycheck is comforting, but it should not hold you back from doing something that you love.
“I don’t have any training in business!”
“I never studied that at school!”
“Where would I even start?”
“Where do you find the time?”
Trust me; once you find that “thing” that you love, you will know as you will simply “make” the time. As far as business knowledge or training goes, pretty much everything you would ever need to know can be found on the Internet. This “Fitzpatrick Family Fitness” Facebook thing we do is pretty much done ENTIRELY on my IPhone, and I now make as much doing this a couple hours a day as I did teaching full time.
When you make it to your 80's I don’t think any of us are going to ever say “ I really wish I hadn’t gone on that vacation” or “ I really wish I hadn’t followeddream to open my own company”. Many of you know the story behind what happened to Jamie and I at Bark & Fitz, and to many people it would have devastated them. I think the difference with us is that what we do never defines us, it simply fuels us.
What is fueling your fire?
What is it that you are NOT doing that you are going to one day regret?
Do something you love.
Don’t let what you do define you.
Ultimately it doesn’t matter what you know, it’s what you do that counts. And in the end if you don’t like what you are doing or who you are today, change can be a mere click away.
Today, I wanted to be Jo-Jo. That was easy…
