In case you are unfamiliar with this witty TV intro or are not a devoted fan like me. Nathan Fielder is a comedian, actor, and writer from Vancouver, Canada. His personal TV show titled Nathan for you is a dry, cringy, uncomfortable yet a watchable experience. Nathan comes up with obscurely creative ideas to attract attention to small businesses around LA. His outrageous marketing strategies lead to awkward yet hilarious interactions with clients, many viewers may even question if this guy is real. Nathan Fielder is arguably the dumbest business genius out there, so here are 5 of his best ideas throughout the four seasons of his show.

Creating a Company Called Dumb Starbucks to Attract More Business than the Starbucks Franchise (season 2 episode 5)

A coffee shop in East Hollywood is struggling to attract business. After doing some legal research Nathan is determined to rebrand the shop under the parody law and by stating it as an art gallery to avoid getting sued, thus creating Dumb Starbucks. The new Dumb Starbucks menu featured items called Dumb venti coffee, Dumb vanilla latte, and even Dumb Starbucks CD”s. The opening day seemed to be unsuccessful, until catching the media’s attention on the national news the next day. Dumb Starbucks flooded with customers and lines out the door. In the end, Dumb Starbucks had to be shut down but at least it was successful for the struggling coffee shop.

New Flavor of Frozen Yogurt for the win! Introducing poo Flavored Yogurt (season 1 episode 1)

After continuously finding their frozen yogurt shop empty, Yogurt Haven, in Eagle Rock, California looks to Nathan for some new marketing strategies to promote business. With a mission to fill the store with customers, the plan was to create a crazy new flavor to get people talking about Yogurt Haven. Poo.

Hiking a Mountain on a Quest for a gas Rebate ( season 1 episode 4)

To help out gas station owner Daniel, Nathan advertises for the cheapest gas in the country of $1.75 per gallon after rebate. In order to receive the rebate, customers must drop it off in person at a location of Nathans choice which is on the top of Mt. Chileo, only accessible by foot in the Angeles National forest. Proving to be a hit with a line of customers waiting for gas, the lucky people who wanted to claim their rebate, spend a whole day with Nathan hiking and uncovering a series of riddles. Later turning into an overnight camping trip, the group of strangers bond and forget about the $13 rebate only to realize the true meaning of friendship. Don’t miss out because this episode even offers advice from gas station owner Daniel, on the benefits of drinking his grandson’s pee.

“ My Homes are 100% ghost and demon free!” (season 2 episode 1)

Sue Stanford is a real estate agent in the LA area and competition lately has been tough. Nathans’s goal is to make sure Sue the most sought after real estate agent in LA. What better way to accomplish this than specializing in an underrepresented group of homebuyers. People who believe in ghosts. By rebranding Sue as the ghost realtor, people would not have to worry about houses being haunted before making a purchase. In order to Validate the home listings on being ghost-free, Nathan has her pair up with a psychic to navigate the knowledge of ghost mediums. An exorcism is even performed in this episode!

New fitness workout: The Movement (season 3 episode 3)

City of Angels is a moving company in the LA area. But owner David is having a hard time staying profitable. By making a convincing argument that moving boxes are a better workout than going to the gym. Nathans’s plan is to make moving boxes America’s next biggest fitness craze by promoting the City of Angels Moving company as the head of the movement.
