Going extra mile

At Amal Academy, I was assigned a project work to implement the course which I have learnt in 1 month of exciting Amal Sessions. I have to drop my resume in person to my dream company or in a research institute according to my interest, I decided to go extra mile by dropping my resume and cover letter in person. I dropped my resume in Department of Plant Breeding and Genetics at my University for an upcoming internship. I dropped my resume and cover letter to NIAB which is glorious institute for agriculture and plant breeding and genetics and it’s my desire to have a chance of doing my internship there.

What did I learn?

By dropping resume in person I actually come to know the meaning of going extra mile, you don’t have to consider that things will be going on and they will work by their own, you actually have to take yourself out of the comfort zone. You have to take small steps, you have to come out of your balloon.

By leaving my comfort area, and dropping resume and cover letter I come to know struggle makes a difference.

What challenges did I face?

The challenges I faced I had fear that they may not accept my Resume by saying that we have not yet opened the applications, but my fear was gone when they accepted my resume.

How did I overcome those challenges?

Although I did not get a chance to meet the Director, I got a chance to meet the assistant manager and I dropped my resume in person to that manager, described my elevator pitch and request them to let me know when they have upcoming internships. Assistant manager said to me that he will surely let me know if they will have a vacancy.

What others can learn from my experience?

Give it a try dear. Put aside all your fears and just focus on your dreams. Do not hesitate to describe your elevator pitch as it shows how committed and passionate you are about your work.
