I’m not real sure what your past has to do with it, but one of the key things that every adult does is to realize who they are and who they want to be.

Some of us do this at a fairly young age. And some of us can take a lifetime without ever quite getting it together. Nevertheless, there comes a point where adults stop paying attention to what the people around them want them to be. They stand up and say: This is who I am. This is what I want.
