Let’s give reader comments another chance — and for real, this time

Mr. Pfauth,

You aren’t the one who gives reader comments another chance. No, really, your opinion on this matter is quite irrelevant. Your readers will comment on your reporting regardless of whether you consider their comments or not.

So you have a choice: You can try to elicit reasonable feedback from your readers, and attempt to incorporate the crowd sourced lessons, as ugly as they may be; or you can ignore it and remain a mediocre reporter that people make fun of.

The fact that you wrote this at all tells me you do not understand the realities of journalism today. Go read some comments and then decide whether you have a thick enough skin to be a modern journalist. The days when you could hide behind your editor who was also the gatekeeper of the letters they published, are over.

One clap, two clap, three clap, forty?

By clapping more or less, you can signal to us which stories really stand out.
