There is this pesky thing out there called freedom of speech. It’s enshrined in the Bill of Rights in our Constitution. So we can’t make a law against such speech.

Even if news outlets posted nothing about an incident, you’d still want to know what happened. So people will post their opinion of what they saw on Facebook, Twitter, Snapchat, YouTube and other social media.

I sympathize with your fears from all the non-stop reporting, but the train has already left the station.

The solution is to not be scared from every mishap or attack. Learn some defensive skills. Learn first aid. Learn survival skills. Make a Go-bag and keep it current.

I’m not suggesting you become a survivalist, but if you know how to take care of yourself, you’ll know how to respond if called upon. That will keep you busy. Those who are busy are too focused on their work to be afraid.
