Why not?
Why not start a new business when everyone is dying around the world and you just sit and wait as if your turn is right there?

You can’t start new things when everything seems to be coming to an end. But even then, you are obliged to maintain yourself. You have to invent new things in order to not lose your mind.

Why not?
Why not start a new online course? Because no one else can handle Google Meets, Zoom and Teams anymore.

Why does it look like five to seven years from now we will still be in isolation? A year has passed and with each passing day, it seems that it is farther from the end. Governors have forgotten us, they save themselves and the rest does not matter. Netflix series have always told us about dystopia. The series are there, watch who wants. I am not responsible for mental breakdowns afterwards.

I’m not talking about a lost year in which we didn’t go to parties, bad music and we had alcohol of dubious origin. I’m talking about a year when we didn’t see our closest friends, our family, grandparents, uncles, cousins. A year that we missed the sunrise outside because we are scared at home — and rightly so! We must be afraid. The disease kills. Worse, it may not kill you. But kill everyone around you until you are left.

And when only you are left, why? Why keep trying if you don’t have reason to laugh anymore, reason to set up a date or look in the mirror and feel good about what you see?

I don’t know why not.

But I know why.
Because we human beings insist on surviving. Just look at the historical line. There is always someone left to tell the story.
And this time, even if selfishly, I hope it would be me.
