I very much appreciate the fact that you give arguments for ‘both sides of the coin’. Being a person that spends quite some hours on youtube, I myself stumbled over lots and lots of tutorials. And, quite honest, they lured me into some new interests and hobbies more than once. However, I have to state that most of the time I use these videos in situations where other platforms (including social comtacts) have failed. One example: When my HP printer stopped working at some point, neither my friends nor the manual could help me, and you won’t believe how glad I was when I found a russian guy on youtube (I don’t speak russian) who showed me how to take the thing apart and repair it. That way, I saved about 80€. Because of that I don’t really care if that person earns something by having me click his video.
