A guide to everything you need to know to improve the soil. Here are 3 of my top tips to improve the soil.

1. Feed it an Organic Diet

Chop organic material directly into the top two inches of organic soil near me Florida with a bladed hoe and cover with mulch. Whenever possible, incorporate manures, mineral phosphorus and potassium amendments, and lime at the same time. Adding these in the off-season is recommended.

2. Till With Worms

Instead of breaking my back digging the rototiller, or breaking out the press, let the worms do till with sheet mulching techniques. Sheet mulching is the process of building compost on the soil surface. For new gardens, start with a mulch layer to put down cardboard and kill the plant.

3. Grow Your Own Soil

Green manures such as buckwheat and vetch litter in spring along with cover crops such as phacelia and daikon in the fall are some means of amending soil texture. Put these green manures and tubers into the ground as the top mulch for the garden in the fall.

For soils, it’s often what we don’t do, as much as what we do, that matters. Before planting spring gardens, the most important soil care priority is letting wet spring soils dry. To get the best soil you can contact soil builder Florida Soil Builders in Florida.
