A whole point I am seeing more and more is the quality of integral immersion, beyond understanding it all. The search to understand everything is becoming a handicap. Conscious knowing has limits. It’s like Taoism. ‘What can be spoken about isn’t the real Tao.’ My full body system is on when I facilitate processes. I get more and more compliments for working with groups, yet I consciously don’t always understand why I do what. I follow a trail, that my body senses I should take. Thus I become part of the swarm. Complexity isn’t a problem, because I have a role within the system as part of the system. Those that separate themselves from the situation, seek mental control or understanding, grapple around in panic.

I think this is also why Swarm Leadership is becoming more essential. Diversity of roles, each seeking to add to what they see is needed, is often a better way to deal with a crisis, then all inform a leader and let him and a small team decide, then plan and execute the plan, only to find the plan is already outdated, can’t deal with many local variations and fluid processes. Then leaders often seek more control, and hinder initiatives by people who seek to help. They rather follow proposals by companies who promise to make a difference and then make a profit, resulting in disempowerment of helpful people, loss of diversity in solutions and lack of intelligence in the system about the system. And then the leaders think people are stupid and more control and power over is needed.
