Dore is a personalized and unique physical exercise program which aims to improve cerebellum efficiency in people who have learning deficiency including dyspraxia, ADHD and dyslexia. The program is currently operating in over 30 schools in the United Kingdom. It is useful for pupils of different ages and the number of pupils enrolling to the program is always increasing.

How Did The Program Come About?

The program originated from a father who was looking for a dyslexia cure for his daughter and as a result, he was able to help a lot of people from various parts of the world suffering from the same condition.

The multimillionaire, Wynford Dore, whose daughter wanted to kill herself due to the condition, described the suicidal attempts as a ‘wake up call’, which meant that he has to take a workable action.Unlike many parents, Dore had the resources to help his daughter and he really needed to do something to help his child. The businessman initiated a series of exercises that he thought could cure dyslexia.

Is The Program Effective?

In response to the critics he faced at the time, Dore stated the program had a success rate of more than 80%in treating dyslexia patients and people suffering from related conditions. He called on the government to form an independent body that could evaluate treatments to handle patients who suffer from the same condition.

Helping People With Related Conditions

It is estimated that about 2million people suffer from the same condition, referred to as ‘wild blindness’. A three years survey on the Dore indicates that the program was able to eradicate learning difficulties in more than 80% of reported cases. The research, which was first published in the peer- reviewed journal Dyslexia, conducted the study with some of the poorest performing pupils in Midlands School. It concluded that the treatment offered by the Dore program had strong and lasting improvements in the children.

Before the treatment was conducted, the independent school reading tests showed that the children who have learning disabilities were making only 7 months progress in a period of 12 months. They were also falling much further behind their colleagues. But in the twelve months of treatment, the children were able to make 20 months progress and were able to catch up with their peers.

After the treatment, the pupils were able to maintain their progress –meaning that the treatment was able to provide a permanent solution to dyslexia associated problems. A headmaster in Midlands school was satisfied that ‘the program had cured the children in their learning and attention difficulties.

According to Dore, some simple brain exercises like balancing wobble boards, juggling with bean bags and walking backwards on the stairs can develop the cerebellum part of the brain. This is one unusual method to cure dyslexia. Other ways that can also prevent the condition include use of fish oils and other special spectacles which have not yet commenced due to the uncertainties surrounding them.
