Hi Alexander, 
After seeing your observant comment, we’ve got a bit confused in the office. So we decided to reached out to the GitLab team and clarify the situation. Even included the link in our email you have referred to. In the reply email they said: “Community Edition (CE) is entirely open source and free to use. The Enterprise Edition (EE) includes all CE features plus additional features that are not open source and are only available with an EE license. When you pay for GitLab EE, you get both the CE and EE features.” I hope it make sense to you. Have a great day!
