Swish Madlala and Nike Have a New ‘BE YE CLEAN’ Collab Coming Soon

22 Year old Durban born — Pretoria based creative Swish Madlala is said to be linking up with Nike to deliver the first installment of his “BE YE CLEAN” collection.

After giving the Air Force 1 Low and Dunk Low a premium look this month, the Ye Clean Fleur Creative Director and the sportswear giant Nike will deliver a new iteration of the classic models set to arrive Spring/Winter 2022.

According to Swish on Instagram, the collaborative Air Force 1 use various materials from exotic leather prints to suede and canvas to celebrate nearly two decades of the silhouette’s releases. A bright gold hue is used to dress the base of the upper that’s coupled with blue overlay panels while white accents appear on the sock liner and the “BE YE CLEAN” slogan embroidered on the tongue. Completing the look is a sail midsole and outsole.

The Air Force by Swish offers a stealthy look with an all-black color scheme covering the premium upper constructed of suede, pony hair ostrich suede, nylon and canvas. Rounding out the design is an icy blue outsole. “Nike’s history and heritage have extended through multiple eras that have molded culture through the lens of style and expression. When it comes to staples in the footwear space, like the Air Force 1 and Dunk, it was the ’90s through early 2000s that defined a golden era for the two silhouettes,” Nike wrote for the Instagram caption of the collab.

Not that Ye Clean Fleur doesn’t celebrate its African-ness, of course, but it’s not often that we discuss Swish’s big love for Japan. Case in point: this Air Force 1 issue.

The 5 monochrome AF1s that will drop next year are set to hit Japanese Nike stores on July 10, according to Swish’s manager & sources close to Nike.

To confirm the rumors, Sunday Service has updated its front page to include the two 5 awaited AF1s.

All that means is that, unless you’re in Japan, you’ll be very lucky to get your hands on this limited stock. There’s always a possibility that stores will include the returning colorways — and maybe that new “Be Ye Clean” version — in next year’s drop, but it’s no less likely that Ye’s latest Nike collab will come later in the season.

According to Swish’s manager,The first drop for the Ye Clean Fleur x Nike Air Force 1 Low “BE YE CLEAN” collab will be released this July 10 2022 on the Sunday Service website as agreed upon by Swish Madlala and Nike C.E.O Bradley Gopaldass but the Nike representatives have yet to confirm if the shoes are dropping on the Nike website.
