The Genesis of Fluent by Fire
I need to be able to read, speak, and write Polish so I can do my family history. First I tried popular apps like Duolingo but couldn't stick with them. Then I designed mnemonic flashcards in the hope I'd learn that way. That went better but the approach is insufficient. So, drawing inspiration from my background in creating interactive experiences like Rejection Therapy and the Cool Continuum, I envisioned a comprehensive program where language learning is not a task, but an adventure.

Fluent by Fire is a unique language learning program structured around 30 "conversation quests" spread over five levels of increasing difficulty. Each quest is a real-world challenge that pushes you to use your target language in practical, everyday situations - right away. From ordering a pastry in a local café to talking sports with a buddy, each quest is designed to be as real as it gets.
My Journey with Fluent by Fire
As the first adventurer in this program, I've embarked on a quest to achieve basic fluency in Polish. Through this blog, I share my personal experiences with each conversation quest, the highs and lows, the triumphs and the trials by fire.
