This is awesome. If we are going to continue to evolve the art and science of user experience, we need to realize that we *all* are the users. We all have something to add. The old models of “the designers down the hall” has perpetuated the us vs. them mentality — why a designer gets threatened when a marketing person tells them about the psychology of color or something. Designers have often been the pixel-pushers, the mouse-movers, the non-thinking “artsy” types that do what everyone else tells them to do. Now that UX is an actual thing — design thinking has brought designers to the table. We need to invite everyone to that table. The best user experience is created out of open conversations over what works, what doesn’t. That won’t happen in a silo.
