My last straw for Animal Crossing: New Leaf was when after I’d spent quite a lot of time fretting and getting together the absolutely perfect ensemble for my villager, during the Halloween event someone came by and permanently turned it into rags because I didn’t manage to finish some damn minigame on time. I felt cheated and betrayed and realized I hadn’t actually been enjoying my time in my little village of Bagelton and sold my copy.
I’ve recently gone through a cull of all of the Skinner-box manipulative f2p games on my phone, as well. I was spending way too much time on them and always hitting the wall where the expectation was that I’d pay actual money to progress. Screw that.
