The folks behind Olmstead and Maison Yaki gave Prospect Heights a lil gift over the holiday break — a new bakery for the neighborhood called Evi’s Bäckerei! The bakery/cafe opened up in the old Vanderbilt space located on the corner of Vanderbilt Ave and Bergen; with the door actually being on the Bergen side. You can read more about the new bakery here over at Brooklyn Mag (I’m mostly writing about this to remind myself to go check it out one of these mornings. There’s been lines every morning it’s been open so I haven’t even tried to get anything here yet).

We moved here a little over three years ago now and it’s so great to see this neighborhood continue to grow and thrive even in the midst of a pandemic that seems to be raging more than ever.

It’s been a minute…

but who’s counting? I’m just here bookmarking an article I found interesting (came across it via Protocol which I think is a very good email newsletter).

I’ll be honest — I haven’t spent enough time thinking about the merits of web3. Most of my free time has been focused on the many loves of my life. My wife, my pups, running/working out, and some new found passions — crypto and sneakers. Yup sneakers but more on that some other day.

Anyhow — one day I’ll put more thought into this web3 notion but in the meantime, I hope others find this article an interesting read.
