Great article (again)! I love the concepts you introduce for a better understanding of how and why design thinking works. Just one thing that came to my mind while reading about “the designer” doing all that design stuff. What about the concept of “collaborative design”? In my understanding, design thinking is a slight change in the traditional role of the designer. At certain stages he becomes more of a facilitator offering methods and expertise the whole interdisciplinary team can use to understand a problem space and ideate on possible solutions. For me this is (apart from all the things you so aptly point out) one of the aspects that make design thinking so powerful. He sort of becomes the scrum master (or master of ceremony, if you will) of a multidisciplinary team design effort.
