Live in Fear

The melody and rhythm may not be immediately apparent, this is slow little country song with patriotic chord progressions I wrote in my head this morning. The chorus needs some variations, I will iterate on it, but it goes a little something like this:

He’s using all those big words on that podcast,
It makes me so damn mad I just can’t see
I can’t find my ass with my own two hands,
A map and a compass,
‘cause that snotty guy on the internet
thinks he’s better than me.

Live in Fear, Live in Fear,
Well the end is surely near,
There’s no hope, no way to change it,
It’s gone no way to save it
Live in Fear Live in Fear,
crack six or seven more light beers
Everything has gone to shit
In the home of the free and brave

I’m pretty sure I know what’s best for this town
I watch the news, and I’ve been around a while
I’m smart I watch the news all day,
I ain’t intellectual, that’s so gay
I don’t like, it sounds fancy
And I don’t go for fancy, I‘d rather

Live in Fear, Live in Fear,
Well the end is surely near,
There’s no hope, no way to change it,
It’s gone no way to save it
Live in Fear Live in Fear,
crack six or seven more light beers
Everything has gone to shit
In the home of the free and brave

It will never work, that’s what my daddy used to tell me
I know because we’ve always done stuff this way
I know that there is no better way, I do the same things every day,
and you would too
if you only knew the truth
You talk too much, please just go away

Live in Fear, Live in Fear,
Well the end is surely near,
There’s no hope, no way to change it,
It’s gone no way to save it
Live in Fear Live in Fear,
throw up all nineteen lite beers
Everything has gone to shit
In the home of the free and brave
