This articulates many things I’ve been trying to spit out over the last couple of years. You did a great job illustrating the real scope covered by freelance web developers, which is easily overlooked by those who have never done it. I have caught flack from PHP, Ruby, JS , Java, and C# programmers for pointing out their pet language isn’t perfect for everything. It amuses me the emotional attachments that develop over time, as if a particular language is our turf. Thanks for keeping it one-hundred, Barry. It seems to me like this all boils down to a vile mixture of Confirmation Bias, The Availability Heuristic, and The Narcissism of Small Differences. To some degree it is because we’re all victims of cognitive bias.
