FC 2015: THE YEAR THAT WAS

Another year has ended at FC. And boy was it epic! Because basically EVERYTHING happened this year. We did fabulous work, great new people joined the team, we got a lovely new office…the list is endless. If you’ve been following us then you know this is true. However, if you haven’t (BUT WHYYY?!), let us help you out. We’ve decided to put it all together to give you a little glimpse at our 2015. So here’s presenting Flying Cursor’s year that was, in the words of all the crazy people that make it what it is.

  1. NEW OFFICE FTW!

We got a beauteous new work space. It has bean bags and a carrom table. Yes, that’s your cue to get jealous. We love this place and we’re never leaving!

2. STAR SIGHTING

Hiiiii Nawaz! So if you haven’t been hiding under a rock, you know we did an awesome film with Nawazuddin Siddiqui for Mahindra’s #SeedTheRise campaign. The highlight of that? The way we got in touch with him. We might have called everyone in bollywood to get his correct number. We almost reached SRK’s office to find nawaz’s number but then finally some one picked up the same number we had and it was him! OHMYGAWD…tears of joy.

Haven’t seen the film yet? Here:

3. THE FAMOUS OFFICE PICNIC IN JAN WITH DRUNK EVERYBODY

Yup, that about summarizes it. No more details needed. Contact us for the inside goss.

4. MANIC REFRESHING OF THE SEED THE RISE PAGE

Admittedly our enthusiasm was because we had never crowdfunded on this scale before. But it was such a great project that we absolutely HAD to manically keep refreshing the #SeedTheRise page to see how much money had come in for our farmers. You would have done the same in our place. Pukka.

5. FILMS GLORIOUS FILMS

If there’s one thing that we all love at FC, it’s making films. And in 2015 we got to make a whole bunch of awesome ones! Woohoo! *does happy dance* But doing a whole ton of films, and some of them simultaneously, means the team splits up to travel the country and shoot. Let’s quote FC Director Parag Gandhi on this:

“How much we shot. It reminded me of the Sholay scene. Aadhe idhar jao, aadhe udhar jao … aur baaki humaare saath aao. Some in Mumbai. Some in Delhi and some in south shooting different things, making films, vines, branded content…We really made Nostradamus’s prediction that 2015 will be the year of video come true.”

6. GETTING FESTIVE

Like the day when everyone decided to celebrate Onam. And took the authenticity bit a little too seriously.

P.S. We miss Get LunchIn!

Or like when we believed in recycling this Diwali.

Or like when Secret Santa got a little too creepy for comfort. Emails in the dead of the night and a gift with a bomb, a few headless dolls and their heads and a cryptic card. Jeepers Creepers!

7. NEW ADDITIONS

We are great believers in more the merrier. Specially with regards to our team. Some awesome crazy folks joined the squad this year and in honour of that here’s one of them in their own words.

“April 12th. At the end of the first Go Gusto Rides. Outside Ideal Corner. With a go-pro and a selfie stick. My first FC project. A crash course in madness and coming off a roller-coaster of Adrenalin. With my favourite copywriter ;) My affirmation moment — that I had made the right choice to switch to digital.”

8. KYA BAAT HAI KYA CHEEZ HAI PAISA

It’s not polite to talk about money. But we will make an exception here only because the reason we got a little extra perk was because we worked like crazy people. We’ll let Parag tell it to you:

“And then the month was awesome. We all worked hard. We really had fun and it showed it in our balance sheet and so we all got unplanned, unheard surprise.. xxxx cash! Woohoo! Christmas came early.!”

The team was clearly excited about it. Like really excited. You have to watch this to believe it.

2016 promises to be even more exciting. Needless to say, we shall keep you informed. HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! :D (The wish is in the video too!)

FYI: Our parents STILL don’t know what we do for a living. We shall try harder to give them an idea in 2016.
