ADAPTABILITY: BEING ABLE TO ADJUST TO NEW CONDITIONS

This is the second week of Andela Bootcamp and its been filled with so many new experiences. Despite all the challenges that I've experienced, I’ve been able to pull through and adapt. Its been a fast paced learning experience for which I’m grateful to Andela for providing the direction needed in becoming a World Class Developer.

One major challenge I faced was lack of knowledge and understanding on some of the things that I’m required to learn and implement on a daily basis. I’ve been able to adapt and learn with a growth mindset that is open and willing to learn for nothing happens without a readiness to change.

I’ve also adapted by realizing the importance that some of my old habits have to be replaced with new ones. For example, I’ve had to reduce my sleeping hours in a day to give me more time to research, study and practice everything that is required of me if i’m to become a World Class Developer.

Also I’ve come to realize that Peer Support / Team Integration play a huge role in my ability to adapt to the new experiences I face. One of the best ways to adapt is to be in a gathering of people with similar Motivation and Commitment, as this provides me with a team to discuss challenges, ask questions, give support to one another and willingly immerse ourselves in the changes that comes with being a World Class Developer.

In summary, I see the skill of being able to Adapt to new experiences as a major deciding factor in succeeding in such a fast faced environment as ANDELA, and the end point being a WORLD CLASS DEVELOPER.
