Thanks for taking the time to read and comment. I hope that the takeaway from this article wasn’t “this is my schedule and if you don’t do what I do you are a giant loser”. That was never the goal. Instead, the goal was to get people to think critically about their status quo and test their assumptions about their morning routine. I always thought there was no way I could wake up before 8 AM and this process has showed me that not only can I wake up earlier, I can feel better and get more done each day because of it.

I know plenty of successful people who do their best work from 8 PM — 2AM. On the flip side, I know of people that get all their best work done before 9AM. It’s all about finding what works best for you and your situation. And it sounds like you’ve found that for your life!

And finally, I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention that I have neither stable income or a “day job”. I’ve been a small business owner for almost 5 years now after I quit my corporate sales job. Also, I haven’t had a “normal” schedule during this entire time. For instance, today I had meetings at 9:30 AM, then I had to run errands before trying to get some office work done this afternoon before a 4:30 PM and a 5:30 PM meeting. The reason I switched to this routine is precisely because of my hectic schedule and unpredictable days. A big reason why I made the change is because I can control what happens in my day before 9 AM, but rarely can I control what happens from 9 until 6.
