I’m not sure about your current health and economic status but telling others to suck it up and smile is facile at best. The only question we could agree on here is that spoiled people are often the least happy, that’s true.
Life is nasty, brutal and short. And then it’s over. Put in those terms our existential crisis almost equally bad for all concerned. Three score and ten is all we’re given, in a universe which measures time in billions of year. Is an ant’s life miserable as s/he only lives a matter of weeks instead of years? So is the life of (wo)man. So relatively speaking, we’re all done for.
But that line of reasoning ends in carpe diem which helps noone but the speaker. Yet some of us feel an obligation to do more for others, more for science, to preserve the world in some form. Strange, isn’t it?
