Park as a work of art

Opened in 1992 Parc André Citroën is one of the latest and most beautiful in the city. A true work of contemporary art right by the Seine river.

A harmonious work with great use of vegetation, concrete, and glass, making it an intriguing and creative place that invites you to discover its gardens and paths. Water is also a very present element in the composition of this public space.

The park is divided into three thematic areas: The White Garden, The Black Garden and The Great Central Park. So, be ready to spend a good part of your day enjoying it. If you are traveling with children this tour is perfect, since there’s plenty of room for the little ones to have as much fun as they can.

The great attraction of the place is the air balloon that rises 150 m (492 ft) above the ground, providing a view that won’t be easily found in your friends’ Facebook pages.

Since this is a non-standard tourist route, it is mainly frequented by locals. It’s located inside a former industrial site. The name or the park comes from car maker Citroën, that had it’s factory originally there.

Today, the neighborhood, 15th arrondisement, is mainly residential. A wonderful walking opportunity around a Paris of true Parisians.

Right next door there is the entrance to the Petite Ceinture , an old railroad abandoned until very recently and now kept by the city as a public footpath. A tip for a double ride on the same day.

WHY IS IT WORTH THE VISIT?

This is a public open space, perfect for contemplating a beautiful landscape work, and a great place to take the kids to play, sit on its benches or giant lawn to enjoy the scenery and, perhaps, read a good book, ride on a balloon and enjoy the view over the city.
