I feel the same way. I wrote a satirical piece saying the same thing. Joining the Writing Cooperative made me feel like I was in touch with other writers, but you also have to wade through the numbers game. Instead of writing something truly helpful and inspiring, they let you know up front you’re reading a washed up Power Point presentation. It’s a lazy way of writing. One article I read the other day, because it was so absurd, listed the twenty books that had changed his life. TWENTY! Most of us only have the good fortune to find one or two life changing books. Apparently I shop at the wrong book store.
