1. UMMRAO

If you are looking for a royal experience @ummraomumbai is the place to visit. The ambience gives you a very positive vibe on your visit with them. They have worked really hard on the interiors to make sure your Royal Experience is a completely grand success. The seating is comfortable, spread over an expansive space and offers enough privacy. The food menu curated by Chef Mukhtar Qureshi bears his stamp and draws inspiration from the Royal kitchens across India. It is a pure Gem serving lip-smacking Indian food with a twist. The core may be non-vegetarian food, but he has ensured some eclectic offerings for Vegetarians too.The staff follows an elite dress code and provides prompt service. Coming to the food, some of the most recommended tryouts of this place include Bhatti ke Bater, Murgh Harapyaaz Pasanda, Adraki Pasanda, Laal Surkh Broccoli, Lychee ke kebab, Kashmiri Gucchi, etc. They might not sound as delicious as they actually are but trust me they are definitely appealing taste vise. Overall you get to Dine in an upscale and classy ambience with friendly service.

2. JUMJOJI

A tiny eatery in Bandra years ago, has resurfaced in a new posh avatar in a plush mall called @theorbmumbai. @jumjoji walls have Parsi and Iranian pictures, quotes, recipes, and real-life significance of the relatives of the owner. They have a piano place as well with some beautiful live music. The unique menu offers the usual Parsi favourites, but many with their own characteristic twist. The ‘Chutney Pattice’ and ‘Chicken Cutlets’ here, are not-to-be-missed.Steamed to perfection in a banana leaf, the Patranimachi, The pomfret was super fresh — flaky, juicy , perfectly cooked. Berry pulao was excellent — it had long, aromatic, Independent grains of rice pulao with super tangy berries in it. Loved it. The browned onions on top added zing. We strongly recommend the Irani Chai Icecream for their desserts. We experienced classy hospitality, mind blowing ambience and of course great authentic food all under one roof.

3. TUSKERS

Tuskers a heaven for vegetarian eaters is named after an animal named elephant as it is the largest land mammal to survive on a vegetarian diet. The entire décor of tuskers is inspired by Gujarat’s rich cultural heritage. They had pain-stakingly dressed up every inch of the restaurant in vibrant hand-made torans (hangings) and beautiful elephant miniatures. Each table was embellished with traditional lamps, parrot-green runners and ribbon-covered miniature horses, enhancing the overall festive look of the restaurant. Coming to food, keeping with the Gujarati trend of going spicy and sweet, the menu leans towards pleasing all vegetarian palate. Using the trio’s (Chef Mukesh Kumar Baghel, Diwakar Joshi & Maharaj Jankidas Vaishav) secret signature blend of flavourful and tangy spices, the offering includes a range of classic regional dishes. However some of their recommended tryouts are Ker Sangri, Gatte Ki Subzi, Bhatura Bites, Nawabi Tikki, etc. No doubt the service of this place is great and the servers are good in giving recommendations. Overall this place for perfect for an evening of luxury dining with your family.

4. TRESIND

@tresind Aromatic airs and an amuse-bouche, along with deconstructed fare takes you on a culinary journey. And the chic, futuristic interiors perfectly compliment the energy of the space! Corporate Chef Himanshu Saini has skilfully crafted a culinary experience that engages all the senses. The menu showcases traditional dishes from the sub-continent, encompassing the various regional culinary influences. The concept of guéridon service, along with clever plating and global cooking techniques, takes the dining experience to the next level. The handcrafted beverage repertoire here complements the food. The ‘Vegan Carpaccio’, aesthetically presented, gets you off to a good start. The ‘Mutton Khari’, with robust, but refined flavours, will wow the palate of any carnivore. The aplomb with which the simple ‘Khichdi’, representing several States in India, is served on the table, coupled with the honest flavours, makes it one of the highlights here. For dessert, the inventive ‘Kaju Katli’ and ‘Palang Tod’, is a treat. Although the food is served with a dramatic flair, it is replete with bold flavours, which pack a punch. The service is exemplary and the staff, articulate.

5. The Butler & The Bayleaf

@thebutlerandthebayleaf Inspired by Northern Indian cuisine, this place plays with authentic flavors that speak of a sense of nostalgia, drawn from family kitchens where recipes are passed down from generations. At the helm here, is Delhi-import Chef Rajan Mehra. After training at the Claridges, he went on to work in some of the finest places like Taj Mansingh, Siddharth Continental, Holiday Inn, etc. Finally he started his new outlet in Mumbai, bringing the best of his knowledge and men together, which helped him to establish this fine dining place. The ambience of this place give you a very warm homely vibe with proper dining chairs and table along with plants and gramophone enhancing the overall look and feel of this place. Coming to the food, some of their most recommended foods are Mini Cholay Bathura, Kakori kabab, Butler Prawns, Biryani, Nalli Nihari and Death By Halwai. etc. and they tasted scrumptious. Hospitality offered ensures every minute you spent here is just fantastic. Overall, a perfect spot for North Indian fine dining food lover of course DELHI STYLE…We felt like home…so will you.

6. PONDICHERY CAFE

Pondichery cafe located @sofitelmumbaibkc features double-floor ceiling height architecture, with large decorative light hoods printed with Indian artworks inspired by silk scarves, hanging over the live kitchen and black granite at different angles to give a dramatic Indo-European effect. Pillars represent uncut diamonds and none are alike and the PDR is set like a jewel in a ring. Coming to the servings, the spread at Pondicherry Cafe is huge and very good. They showcase an array of authentic cuisines. However, their most recommended tryouts are Panang salmon with red curry, pad Thai noodles, dimsums, etc. They host a feastful Brunch every Sunday with so many cuisines on the buffet right from Asian to Indian to Italian. One must definitely indulge in the sinful selection of desserts here. The outlet’s new chef made his reputation with excellent South Indian food and his take on his native Syrian Christian Kerala cuisine is outstanding. All the food are good in terms of its quality and presentation. Overall this place is recommended for those who want to have a luxury buffet dining experience.

7. KEBAB KORNER

Since 1971 Kebab Korner has been the most beloved and iconic India restaurant for the city of Mumbai. The restaurant @interconmd was recently revamped and with its big comfortable arm chairs, ornate decorated windows that remind you of intricate lattice work really makes you feel like you are dining in a mahal or palace somewhere in the North. Coming to the food, this is a place for people who are specific about the excellent quality of food and service. Their menu ranges from north Indian to Mughlai delicacies which takes you on a culinary journey through the lanes of town and cities that have made Indian cuisine what is it today. The recreated menu has unique flavours that are showcased with traditional cuisines served with a new look. However, some of their most recommended food are Makkai Roti Tacos, Tulsi Paneer, Kakori Kebab, etc. The royal treatment is extended with their courteous service and great recommendations. 8. ROYAL CHINA

@royalchinaindia, was jointly started by 3 Parsi entrepreneurs to serve authentic Chinese food bearing in mind the constantly evolving and emerging trends and tastes from around the world. They have combined the traditional and contemporary elements of Cantonese cuisine. The decor is subtle and infused with modern design. Once comfortably seated, we decided to begin our feast with a bunch of their Dim Sums. We also managed to try Lotus Root, Diced Vegetables in Lettuce Wrap, Chicken Soya Noodles, Flaming Fish and for dessert Mango Pudding. We experienced authentic Chinese and Cantonese cuisine with a flare of fine dining hospitality. We strongly recommend that you make a reservation considering the popularity of the outlet. They also have a special dim sum lunch and an executive lunch during the week. In addition to the delectable Cantonese dishes, they also offer an extensive list in fine wines. This is an expensive restaurant and also a favourite with many celebrities. A special shout out to the kitchen and service team who ensured our experience was nothing less than royal.

9. IMPERIAL CHINA

Call it a perfect treat for all Chinese food lovers as @hiltonmumbai brings to you China’s most celebrated tradition the ‘Yum Cha’ food festival to the city. This was our first visit to @hilton and we experienced simple and classy ambience with royal looking upholstery and tapestry. Back in China, ‘Yum Cha’ is a popular Cantonese tradition of brunch, involving refreshing Chinese tea and dim sum. Culminating the same at this festival, the exquisite wide spread curated by skilled sous chef Thomas Lai will let the guests savour the culinary essence with authentic dishes like Vegetable Momo, Lamb Dumpling, Pork Tangerine, Chicken Shu Mai, Prawn Shanghai, Fish Oyster and more. End this peculiar joint with a host of scrumptious desserts namely Honey Noodles with Ice Cream, Date Pancake With Ice Cream. With an elaborate array of vegetarian and non-vegetarian delicacies and delectable desserts, this is a meal you just can’t miss! 10. JIA ORIENTAL KITCHEN

Owned by the founders of Royal China, @jia_theorientalkitchen, in Mandarin it means ‘I love my family’. The ambiance of this place ensures you have a complete fine dining experience. The restaurant is elegantly designed with large grey honey combs as part of its decor. One thing to note is that their working hours are strictly with respect to the average lunch and dinner timings. Coming to food, their menu is vast, spanning everything from a vegetarian dim sum platter to succulent prawns in Japanese tobanjan sauce. However, some of their most recommended tryouts are Dimsum (Jain), Fried Turnip cake, Prawn Sushi, melting chocolate Dom, Spicy Hargow Prawn. Everything served had the perfect authentic touch to it. The staff helps you with the minutest doubt you might have on the menu. The service is top notch and time between all the dishes is decent so that you could savour it`s taste ! Overall this place is highly recommended for a fine dining Pan Asian food experience with your family.
