Food for Thought

I’ve decided to delve into the world of blogging. With the plethora of food and fitness blogs out there, you may ask yourself, why should I read this one? Well, I think I bring a unique perspective for the following reasons:

  1. I’m in college
  2. I love trying new foods
  3. I can’t help but love indulgent foods, but I am also a supporter of healthy foods and an active lifestyle
  4. I find myself torn between a writing blog posts full of overly-indulgent, no-butter-spared recipes and restaurant recommendations, and blog posts geared toward sharing my thoughts and passion for locally-sourced, good-for-you, ethically-raised, farm-to-fork movement foods.

My food interests span this wide spectrum, and my blog posts will reflect this. Sometimes I can’t resist a triple chocolate cupcake recipe, and at other times,maybe in an effort to offset my indulgent food tastes, I want to try the latest “superfood”, vitamin-packed, all-natural smoothie.

Follow me as I compile and share the latest food trends, food-related news, and what ever else in the food world that I find interesting — and occasionally, my attempts to recreate delicious recipes. This blog also coincides with a paper that I am working on for my journalism class that is about how social media how influenced healthy food trends, and how it has led to consumers adopting healthy foods and diets.
