  • Simply create the masala sauce and refrigerate it if you want to cook the prawn curry a day or two in advance.
  • Remove the masala gravy from the freezer a few hours in advance, marinate the prawns, and cook the dish when the liquid cools down.

Ingredients

  • 500g prawns, cleaned and finely chopped (prawns, about 25–30 medium)
  • to marinate
  • a quarter teaspoon of salt
  • 1 tsp lime or lemon juice
  • 1 tsp powdered red chilli
  • 1 tsp. garlic-ginger paste
  • For the sauce for the prawn tikka
  • 3 tbsp of vegetable oil
  • 1 big onion, finely chopped
  • cumin seeds (1 tsp)
  • 1 tsp powdered turmeric
  • 1 tsp powdered red chilli
  • 1 tsp garlic-ginger paste
  • 2 teaspoons tomato paste
  • 1 tbsp garam masala
  • a half-cup of curd or yogurt
  • 1/4 cream
  • seasoning salt
  • 1 tsp sugar

Procedure

  1. Put the prawns in a basin after patting them dry to eliminate excess liquid.
  2. 1/2 teaspoon salt, 1 teaspoon lemon or lime juice, 1 teaspoon red chilli powder, and 1 teaspoon ginger garlic paste (1 tsp).
  3. Allow for a 5- to the 10-minute rest period.

How to prepare the curry for prawn tikka masala

  1. Put the oil into a pan over a moderate flame (3 tbsp).
  2. Mix in the cumin seeds (1 tsp) and the sliced onion (1 big), and sauté until the onions are tender and brown.
  3. 1 tsp turmeric powder, 1 tsp red chilli powder, 1 tsp ginger-garlic paste, 1 tsp red chilli powder, 1 tsp red chilli powder, 1 tsp red chilli powder, 1 tsp red chilli powder, 1 tsp red chilli powder, 1 tsp red (1 tsp). Over low-medium heat, cook for 2 minutes.
  4. Toss in the tomato paste (2 tbsp)
  5. Cook until everything is properly blended.
  6. Add half a cup of yogurt to the pan, next to garam masala (1 tbsp).
  7. Over low heat, whisk everything together until you get a thick slurry.
  8. Taste and season with salt, then add 1 tsp sugar to balance out the flavors.
  9. Mix the prawns with the masala gravy and mix thoroughly.
  10. Cook until the prawns are tender (3–4 minutes).
  11. Pour cream (1/4 cup) over the top and serve.
