Isn’t this paradox of personality or personal identity just another variation on the paradox of free will? It seems to me that there is a bit of Zeno’s paradox in your elaboration of the paradox. Whatever reasons I give for choices I make, their are reasons for those reasons, and then reasons for the reasons for the reasons and so on. Still, Achilles catches the toroise so maybe you have personality/identity/free will after all.
